I’m Ovi Paulter, a floral oil painter capturing the beauty of fleeting moments and the nostalgia woven into everyday life. My work is deeply rooted in the memories of my childhood in Lithuania, where my summers were spent in my grandparents’ garden—a place overflowing with peonies, roses, hydrangeas, lilies, and the warmth of tradition. That garden wasn’t just a place; it was a feeling—one of love, belonging, and wonder—that I now seek to preserve through my paintings.
Living in New Jersey, I’m a proud mom of three teenagers and married to my loving husband. By day, I work as a receptionist at a law firm, but art remains my true calling. I paint alla prima, completing each piece in one sitting to capture the essence of a moment, before it fades—just like memories do.
My Forget-Me-Nots series is a love letter to my Lithuanian childhood—pitting cherries for jam with a safety pin, picking apples with my grandfather, the fragrance of blooming lilacs in the spring air. These small but profound moments shaped me, and I paint them so they may live on.
When I’m not painting, you’ll find me exploring New Jersey’s flower farms and botanical gardens, indulging in old movies with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn, or enjoying tea in a quiet corner.
